Anomie is associated with the breaking down of society and alienation. It causes more crime. It happenes in America right now: divorce rates increases, afflicaiton to home towns decrease. Also, having a low income (strain theory) means that you are more likey to be in anomie because you are frustrated and try to get money quick so you break norms.
