Note: The equation shows that for a given force, the smaller the mass experiencing the force, the greater the acceleration. In other words, a small mass experiences a greater effect of a force than would a larger mass. The effect of the force, acceleration, is a change in the object's velocity- in magnitude, direction, or both. For a given force, a greater mass will experience a smaller resulting acceleration or effect of that force. T he direct proportionality between F and a demonstrates that for a given mass, the greater the force, the greater the acceleration.
