Note: If a system is uniformly dense, its center of mass coincides with its geometric center. If the system is not uniformly dense, its center of mass is shifted away from the geometric center toward the denser side. For example, a cube with one half made oflead and the other half made of Styrofoam would have a geometric center equidistant from its edges. However, its center of mass would be shifted toward the lead side.
